Proposed IIHF Hockey Club Championship

The IIHF is one step closer to setting up a European hockey club championship league. They're also proposing the winner of that league play the NHL champs.

After scrolling through 7 pages of IIHF search results I don't see a thread on this...but I think we talked about it a bit. Nonetheless, this is the latest info:

My wife is from Brazil and a soccer nut. FIFA does this same thing. To South American teams it's huge. To European clubs it's a huge inconvenience. I could see the same with Europe loving it and the NHL not.

IM guessing they would both hate it after awhile because the NHL would think of it as an inconvenience and the european teams would get tired of getting smoked

it would be fun to watch but I'm not sure if the NHL would send the Cup winners or just some random team.
