DIVX flash for DVD

Recommended Posts

There is a file that you burn onto a disk then put that disk into your DVD player and hit play...the file runs a program that "flashes" your machine to play DIVX files.

I thought it was on www.divx.com....but I couldn't find it when I looked. Another guy at work who's done it couldn't find it either. Maybe they've moved them on the site?

The files are specific to each model/company. I've got a Daytek machine I want to try flashing.

Does anyone have the link?

I didn't think there was one. I had to buy a dvd player that supported divx.

I know there is such a thing...I just can't find it.

here's what I got back from my friend at work:

...To find the list you have to go into the actual DivX player that's in the download and click on tools and it guides you from there to the list of certified "devices"...

Sadly....Daytek isn't supported.

You can use Nero and some other programs to convert the AVI into a DVD formatted disc that you can use. I do it for my parents all the time, and it works great.

I know...but I got a DIVX copy of Fantastic Four 2 that I wanted to watch...so i would have had to flash my DVD player to watch it.
