We organize a monthly pickup hockey game with the money raised going to cancer research.

This month, because of Dave Fay (caps beat reporter for the washington times) passing from cancer, we are putting the money raised to Hockey Fights Cancer, per the wishes of his family.

Dave is being honored by the Elmer Ferguson award by the Hockey Hall of Fame this year.

Unfortunately, rosters are full for the event, but if you want to come out, have a laugh, grab a beer after the game, please do. We will be accepting donations.

We have got some press for this event because of Dave Fay (we normally donate to the American Cancer Society through the Woodbridge Relay for Life)

Anyway, if you want to come out, its this sunday (29th) at ballston, from 2-3.30pm.

All donations appreciated.

Not sure if anyone from the boards here turned up, but we did have a nice crowd.

Dave Fays wife Pat, and his Granddaughter Serena arrived there about mid way through the first period. We were not expecting them or anything, so were honoured they thought enough of our little event to show up.

We normally raise between $300-700 depending.

This month, we collected $1700 after ice costs, which we are donating to Hockey Fights Cancer, in Dave Fays name.

So, if you read this and were there, thank you very much.
