New TPS pants? (R8/R6 etc...)

Recommended Posts

So it looks like I was smartly talked out of picking up a pair of Tackla 55 pants (my last post: Tackla 55)

My local shop just carries the traditional CCM/Bauer/RBK lines and I wanted to think "out of the box". So has anyone tried the new TPS line of pants? like the R8 or R6?

I'm a beer leaguer but I've got a history of hip injuries so I don't mind spending a few extra bucks for more protection. My price range is about 100-150 US.

Thanks again

jepp, got the R8, had ccm695 before, but wanted more protection. they have a trditional cut legwise, like ccm, but my L fits tighter than my ccm L do and are a tad longer, what i like.i am 6'' tall, 185 lbs, my waist about 33-34, if that helps you on the sizing. they are a bit heavier then the 695, but not too heavy and bit lighter than the protacks, unlike i wrote in another thread, i compared them meanwhile. maybe the 895s are close. i don't care about too much, when pants fit. I really like the kidney protection its not too high, and the lining. I would like to try one of those reeboks, specially the 9s, or any girdle-style slim fitting pants, but i get special prices on tps, thats a argument for me, i admit, but anyhow i really like those pants and a friend of mine played pro with those last season and they held up well, so long, I like them. try them on!

Thanks for the helpful review - I think I might try them. My current pants are 895's, but I've worn the 652 and the pro-tacks in the past so I think I know what you're talking about with the difference in weight.

Just curious - what team did your friend play pro for?

Thanks again

I'd certainly consider the TPS pants for a more traditional fit but if you want to try streamline the supreme series is really nice. The "stretchy material" is the stretchiest of any pants I've seen, this leads to a nice tight fitting pant that isn't the least bit restrictive.
