eBay question?

Recommended Posts

I'm kind of in a confusing situation and I need some help (if possible) so I'm going to explain my situation and see if there are any solutions that could solve my problem.

I recently purchased a pair of custom ordered return SyNergy 1200c's. The starting price was really low for such a high model skate so I decided to keep my eye on it, well on the last day and around 5 minutes to go, there was still no bids so I kept watching and at the last second decided to go for them since they were such a deal. Well I tried contacting the seller before the auction ended asking him about the payment options. (I was previously scammed on PayPal but got everything settled after a lengthy dispute so I'm permanently done with PayPal) and his auction stated that PayPal was "accepted/preferred" but not PayPal ONLY so I emailed him and messaged him asking if he would take a money order: no answer. Well now that the auction is over, for about 2 days now, I've emailed him and messaged him 3 or 4 more times and I'm still not getting an answer. I really don't know what to do but I really need a new pair of skates for ice as soon as possible but I don't want to buy or bid on another pair and win and then find out he responds and accepts a money order and then I'm stuck paying for 2 pairs of skates when I only need one.

For those eBay veteran's out there, what other options do I have other than waiting if I have any other options at all? Is there a way I can go to eBay directly and they contact him? I don't know but I need skates as soon as possible and I can't really wait much longer (with shipping time).

Any help is very appreciated and I just hope somehow this situation works out!

Thanks in advance for any help or direction to solving this problem,

You can request to get the sellers personal information and then try to call them to find out what is going on. Outside of that I don't know what else you could do.

You can just email Ebay and they will contact him. He will probably be more likely to take Ebay seriously, if he's not on holiday or busy?

Thanks guys, I'm going to give him a couple more days to respond. I just noticed that he's at "0" transaction count so this would be his first transaction. But, like all of us, someone has to give him a chance and his product and description look legit. He's also emailed me back confirming he has the skates (before the auction was over and to ask him if he would accept "buy it now") and seemed like a straight-up type a guy. I did contact ebay though for his phone number in-case he still doesn't answer me.

Thanks for the help guys!

If the guy doesn't answer by tonight or tomorrow and I go ahead and buy something else and then after he messages me and says he would accept a money order but I didn't want them or couldn't buy them anymore, is there anyway I would still have to buy them? Or can I decline buying them and just go our separate ways?

Thanks in advance..have another skate offer in the works and can only finalize based on this!

Get in contact with eBay first, as he can still file a Non-Paying-Bidder with them. I think it's up to a month or something.

He has to wait 7 days before he ca file a claim against you. I know this cause I had to wait 7 days to fill a claim against this guy who screwed me out of $800 for my Steelers Tickets last year.

Have you tried to call him yet? I'd give that a shot. Also when your sending him emails on ebay and stuff, make sure that your sending a copy of it to yourself. That way you can show them to Ebay if he makes a counter claim against you.

I have copies of all the emails...for some reason even though I keep the "send copy of message to my email" button checked, I don't get any copies. I'm going to email eBay directly as I would rather just go another option because I'm weary of sending him money now that he can't even answer my questions.
