shelton 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2007 hey guysI am from england and i am hoping to move to the USA pretty soon. i have been to america 3 times playing roller hockey for Great Britain and i am hoping to find a team to play for next year in either narch or TORHS. obvioucly i am english so i have no idea how to get hooked up with an american team for one of the tournaments. it is my dream to play for an american team out there. if anyone has any information on how i could maybe try to get with a team can they help me out please. if there are any coaches out there reading i do have some experience and i have been captain for 2 years now and i have also played for the mens team this year out in spain for the FIRs world championships. please guys you are all wise people. thefelixculpa 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2007 I'd say try out for a PIHA (Professional Inline Hockey Association) team that is near where you move to, get your name out and meet people through that. shelton 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2007 i dont really mind where in the US i would just like to play for a team that are competing in narch or torhs in 2008. we dont get good enough hockey in GB so i want to play for a team out there. i have loads of stuff if anyone wants any info on me to see if i am good enough and stuff but i dont realy know enough people in USA to get to play for a team. Allsmokenopancake 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2007 You say you are moving to the US. I think he means what part.Are you moving for work, or are your parents moving. Is it your intent to move wherever there is a good roller team, and get the rest sorted then.Trust me, I'm from Ireland, my wife is from Northern Ireland, you can't just decide "I'm moving" and think you will be here in a matter of months. It took us 6 years to get permanent residence approved, and we were already out here on work visas.If you know what part you are moving to, people will likely be able to guide you better. Also, you say you played on the mens team, does this mean you are under age? If so, what age bracket are you looking to play in.Things like that. shelton 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2007 i play as a first year under 18 player from the start of the new season. i am moving out to US in the next year or so but i do have permission and visa accepted for 3 months to go out there now. i just want to play for a team in one of the tournaments next year. not for perminant. and yeah i play GBHI but i play BIPHA most.
