Pant Shell

Can you put a shell over regular ice pants, or do you gotta buy one of those "girdle" pants. Also speaking about girdles, what is the difference between a girdle and a regular pant?

1) yes, shells can go over regular pants if you want to change the color etc.

2) a girdle is tight fitting, spanex-like, and just has the padding, you need to wear a shell over it. a lot of people find that girdles are lighter and provide more mobility.

What Trevor said is correct but I would like to add that they usually dry out quicker than normal pants too. And because they wrap around you and fit snugly, they move with you. They aren't free floating like pants are. I know plenty of guys that won't use anything else but I just can't get used to the feel personally.

o, so is that the only difference between say the one90 girdle and pant, or is there different foams and palstics as well?

Probably could find them at a sabres equipment sale, or maybe a site that has a lot of prostock equipment like east west hockey.

Ebay will probably be your best bet (thats where I found mine), or maybe a site with a good pro stock selection, but that might have logos on it.

Try Hockey1-(1-800-hockey-1) They had some Stahl and Dean and Tackla shells in Maroon, possibly others as well. A local prep school uses/used that color so they always stocked it. Haven't been there in a year or so, but worth a shot.

Yea the website Monty referred me to (hockey1.com) had TPS and Tackala ones in Maroon.

Did a quick search and couldn't find an answer. Do either of the Vapor or Supreme Shells have leg zippers? There is no mention in the catalog and I can't tell from the pics.

None of the shells I've seen have leg zippers, unless you get a pro stock pant lower half.

Easton Stealth Shell has leg zippers as does an older Nike Shell that I have seen. That is why I ask. I know the CCM and others shells do not. I was just curious about the NBH Shells since I couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere (short of calling HM or HG and relying on a CS rep who may have never even seen a hockey rink before).
