Custom Tongues

I just got the Vapor 40's and I've been seeing some people with custom tongues on theirs that look sweet and really comfortable. I was wondering how you go about getting them and how you go about putting them on. I searched the site and really didn't see anything that was the same as my question, sorry if I didn't search hard enough. I saw a pair on eastwesthockey but they are no longer in stock. I am looking for something similar to the pair on that site which is a pair of One90 tongues with custom white felt that is very similar to a pair of grafs. If anyone has any info let me know. You could call east west hockey, since they had them in stock at one point maybe their website isn't updated and they have more or if they don't they could help you out in another way.

I'm in the same boat: got the skates I want, just need a different tongue. I'm pretty dab with a sewing awl, so swapping the tongues shouldn't be too hard: not much more than changing straps on pads.

Just rip out the old ones with a seam ripper, then resew through the existing holes.

That's the plan, I just can't find anyone who'll sell me a pair of S500 tongues.

I think Dougie8 might still have his pair of S500s for sale for like $45 cdn. I'd PM him and see if you could buy those and just rip the lounges out of those and put them on your skates. That's really going to be your best bet, just try and find someone that's selling some on the cheap and buy the whole skate (unfortunately).

Thanks, we're in touch - obviously, he'd prefer to sell the whole skate, but we'll see how it works out. Shipping would be a bitch for the whole skate, and I his holders are too big for me to make use of.
