Securing Hockey Shell to Hockey Pants

Recommended Posts

My team has introduced hockey shells this season and I refuse to part with my Tackla 9000's. The shells have a nylon belt and fit over the Tacklas but I always feel they are slipping down. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fasten the shell to the pants.

Thank you

You can make button-holes just under the beltline and fasten them to your Tackla's suspender buttons (if they have them).

I am going to try the button hole idea. The shell is a bit baggy and I am probably just annoyed that we have to wear them at all. One of my teammates swears that he is skating slower with them. I wouldn't go that far and have been laughing while he makes his case.

Thank you

I forgot one important detail: you may want to sew some buttonhole stitches around your new button holes to keep the nylon from unravelling. Just look at how buttonholes are finished on shirts or pants if you need an example.

And then beyond that....anytime you cut, or rip nylon...take a lighter to the ends of the nylon threads real quick and singe (a little melting of the nylon) to keep them from fraying.
