I remember there were offers like this when the season starts in the past years. Does anyone know whether there will be something like this offered this year?

Thats highly unlikely in my opinion. Its pretty much the same concept as say Ford or GM offering a bunch of rebates and incentives on thier cars, while Honda and Toyota dont bother. What it boild down to is that Honda and Toyota KNOW thier autos will sell because lets face it, they make great autos, while GM and Ford are now playing catch up. Likewise, Bauer and CCM have always had the upper hand on anyone in the hockey business, as they have been around the longest and have been the most popular. Bauer has never needed a promo to sell thier skates, and CCM did it when Ovechkin came into the league to move thier OPS mainly, since easton was blowing everybody away in that cataegory.

Mission does have an offer like that, but other than them, the only promotion going on is the CCM Guts and Glory promotion where if you buy either the 10.0SE skates, the Vector helmet, or the 10.0 Catapult stick you get apparel.
