RBK Cage

Recommended Posts

I was looking into getting a new helmet (and cage since i play in a league in which a cage is required) and i was looking at the RBK 6k and 8k helmets. I noticed that RBK came out with a cage that comes with the 6k but not the 8k so i looked for the cage sold separately but couldn't find it. This left me with a couple questions. One being if anyone knows where I can find the RBK cage sold online another being what are the main differences between the 6k and 8k and lastly is it worth spending the extra money to get an 8k helmet and buy a cage separately or is the 6k just as good since it is cheaper and comes with a cage already? Thanks in advance.

I like the NBH true vision cage. fits well on the RBK 8k. and i think the only difference between the 6k and the 8k is the little adjustment knob on the back of the helmet.

The knob in the back of the 8k is called the microdial. It adjusts the circumference of the helmet. IMO, I don't think it is worth the extra money just for that. I chose the 6k over the 8k, and I have never thought to myself, "man, I wish this had the microdial." It is a nice luxary to have, but I don't think it is worth the extra money.

I have an 8k, and i must say, i feel that when you put the helmet on, the microdial straps, are useless. They just go back to the loosest setting everytime you put the helmet on. Luckily i got my 8k for less than the 6k costs (75$), so i have no regrets.

composite subshell too on the 8k... but i never used the microdial when i had an 8k and the subshell doesn't seem to really do much i don't think.

Your teammates probably didn't get a good fit out of the intake, that's all. Doesn't make him wrong. The 8k doesn't fit him, the Intakes don't fit your friends. Different heads are, well... different.

I really like the vector helmet after trying it on. It's the first EPP helmet that I've actually considered buying.
