Skate breakin/breakdown

I am looking at the Easton lineup of skates to replace my L7's. I have tried on both 8.5 and 8. While the 8.5 is comfortable, I am afraid they are slightly too long. When I wear the 8, I feel the toes are slightly crumpled on my right foot. will this situation get better as the skates age / are baked?

same advice anyone will give you, when in doubt assuming your done growing, go with the smaller pair. you can always make a skate bigger, but never smaller.

If you're buying them retail new, see about custom ordering and getting 8L and 8.25R. The charge might not be much more.

I personally didn't notice much more room in my CCM Vectors after having them baked and using them a couple dozen times. My longest toe can touch the end, just like the day I tried them on. I am, however, in a size too big. 11 had my toes slightly curled, 11.5 makes the longest barely touch, 11.25 would have been more ideal.
