RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 My GF's car has a CD player that will play MP3 Data discs. I burned a disc that has about 100 songs (400 Meg or so). They are all MP3's...and the manual of the CD has all MP3 sample & bit rates are compatible...These are between 128-192 for the most part. But when we put the disc in, it reads, says Track 1...then come up FORMAT and moves to Track 2...same thing...we got to about 7 before I got fed up and switched to the radio.Any thoughts? mack 44 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 Have you tried playing it on another system?
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 Have you tried playing it on another system? These are all MP3's I burned off my computer. They all played fine there, last time I checked...but the disc won't play in her computer either. It reads the disc and shows files on it...but when I click them...it says the format isn't supported. Hmmmm...I guess I gotta do a little more digging on this.I recently moved all my MP3's from my old computer to an External HD and back onto my new computer. The new machine only had 2 IDE cable (CD-R/DVD) and 1 Sata....the new 200 Gig drive, so I couldnt' put the old drive of MP3's into the new computer.I burned the disc AFTER the transfer...is it possible that I've somehow corrupted all my MP3's? mack 44 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 Yeah, just checking because something like that happened to some I'd burned to listen to at work and they wouldn't read. I never did figure out why they wouldn't work, but at least I know it wasn't an isolated thing.
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 It's been a while since I burned a CD, but on RW CD's it's possible to copy the files to a CD without making them listenable. The disc has to be closed before the music it accessible. Maybe your burn wasn't completed?

RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted August 20, 2007 I've got an '07 Civic. PM and I could give the file a look and see what's up.It's not just 1 file...it's a whole bunch. I just checked them on my own machine....they all played except one.According to the manual....ALL MP3's should play. Regardless of the sample/bit rate. I may just try re-burning them.[EDIT]: Well...it must've been something I did when I burned the first disc. I re-created my session, and re-burned it...and it appears to be working now (on my computer anyways).
