Easton S15 vs 1300C Fit

Recommended Posts

I tried on some Easton Skates at my LHS the other day. I would describe my foot as wide in the forefoot and mid-foot, deep foot, nomral to narrow heel and skinny ankles.

First I tried a 1300C in size 7R. The forefoot was nice and wide and I could feel the skate wrap around my forefoot very nicely, something I have not felt in other skates (I've had CCM Vector 7.5EE before). The only problem was that I couldn't get my heel locked in and I experienced the chafing at the leg / top of ankle from the boot that some others here have mentioned.

Next I tried on the Stealth S15 in size 7.5W. Surprisingly, the length felt the same. The new ankle padding was excellent and locked my heel in perfectly, nice and tight. The only problem was the width, R is definitely wide enough for me.

So my question is, has anyone noticed a change in sizing in regards to length between the 2 skate series? Should the new Stealth series fit half a size smaller now?

Sorry for the long post.

First off, by the description of your feet I would say we have near identicle one's - I've tried so many skates and have yet to find a pair that I call comfortable until a few days ago. The S15's and S11's were so comfy in the store that I am considering purchasing a pair. I would agree with you that the Easton sizing has changed somewhat - the stealth series indeed seems to fit smaller.

My skate sizing:

Graf 6 or 6.5

CCM 6 or 6.5

Easton 7.5

There is definitely a change in the fit size. I wear a 7.5 EE with my Synergy 1100's and an 8EE in my 1300C's. The 1100's are snugger at the toe even in a size 8. The 1300C's have much more toe and mid foot space but aren't sloppy at all. I definitely prefer the fit of the C series and new S series carbon/composite skates.
