Tucking in Jersey

My son, who plays squirt hockey, has grown too big to fit in a Youth XL game jersey. And yet he's not big enough for the next size up which is Adult Small. We can have the sleeves hemmed by several inches but the jersey reaches down all to his knees and the only solution we can think of is to tuck it in under his pants. Just wanted to know if tucking in is accepted and if there are any regulations with regard to this. Thanks.

As long as his player number is still visible (and even that is debateable in some leagues) he will be just fine.

It would depend on the league you play in. In europe under IIHF rules players can't tuck there jerseys in at all.

My jersey always end up getting tucked in the back of my pants eventually, no matter what I do.

as someone small who had a gigantic jersey ordered... tuck the thing. I just wouldnt tuck all the way around.. it looks rather silly.

i was like that untill i grew he should just tuck it in on the side and it will take it up to normal length worked forme

i used to tuck the whole thing in and pull it out a little bit. tucking in one hip works sometimes, but ive found depending on just how big the jersey is, it (jersey) could find a way to get grabbed or snagged and it would just come out anyway.

I beleive Afinogenov tucks his jersey in the back...if you ask me it looks pretty sick.

I'm a small guy @ 5'6 but w/ shouldies I still feel like I need usually a XL jersey otherwise it feels tight, however its so damn long that I always need to tuck it on the side otherwise it really hangs past the halfway to my knees. I gotta figure out what size jersey Gionta uses because he seems about my build.. although he's got 20lbs on me..

I think you should be pretty safe with tucking it in. If the jersey's that huge then what other option do you have? I haven't seen anybody given any flack for it before.

I'm 6'2" and around 180 lbs. but I normally just wear a large or sometimes a medium, seeing as I tend to like my jerseys fittin a little tighter (I can't wait to get my hands on an Edge jersey). I don't feel an difference between where it gets tucked in so I don't even bother with it, but it usually manages to tuck itself into the back as the game goes on.
