Itech 655 Shoulder Pads

Recommended Posts

I picked up a pair of Itech 655 techlite shoulder pads on the cheap recently. I have not made up my mind as to if I like them or not. If anyone has any experiences to share on these please do, I am curious as to others opinions. Thanks.............DGR

I use these pads. I find them pretty lightweight, they don't restrict mobility too much either, which is good. They don't offer much in the way of belly protection, but I've never had any issues. Other than that, I wish the shoulder cups were a little less bulky, but that's a minor gripe.

If you're just playing rec or no-check, then you might want to look into the new Easton S1 pads...they look amazing, and they're cheap as hell...might be my next shoulder pads.

I have a pair as well. Used em for a couple of scrimmages. No major gripes. They're light, fit well, and mobility is good. This came as a surprise for me as it's very rare for me to find a pair of shoulders that I give a thumbs up with regard to fit and mobility. I have more pairs of shoulders than I'd like to mention. Similar to beaucoup, my only knock against it is that the shoulder cups are to bulky for my liking. I look like a fridge in my jersey.

I was able to score a brand new pair of Cooper SBD II's that I feel in love with once I put them on. The mobility is far better than the Itech and the shoulder cups (although plastic) are smaller than the Itech's. Perfect pair for me.

As I posted previously, a lot of guys don't look at Itech equipment when their looking for shoulder, elbow or shins. In my opioion Itech makes some pretty decent protective. I guess the same could be said about Mission. It's bizarre because these two manufacturers are usually much more reasonably priced than the big three, RBK, Nike/Bauer and Easton. Better advertising? Possibly. Market exposure is probably a big factor of why the public buys the products it does.

I do like them in that it seems they could stop a shotgun blast, fit really well and range of motion is good. The one thing I notice (maybe it's just me) is that they seem kind of heavy and hot. I am a sweater, but seem to sweat more so in these. Thanks for the feedback.
