After school hockey training

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I have a question. Usually after school I will come home and take a nap or whatever, then I will do my stickhandling and shooting. What other things do you think I should work at, at home? Where I live it rains alot so when it doesn't I play roller hockey outside, and Im asking this for days when it rains and I don't have ice hockey.

So what would you suggest other then my shooting and stickhandling? wrist curls? plylos in my basement?

stickhandling a ball, shooting pucks at the wall, plyometrics, weight lifting. The one thing that I see at EVERY level of hockey is players that are limited by their skating ability. So, an hour of "open skate" time at the local rink, dodging the figure skaters, is VERY useful. Have a figure skating instructor teach you some edge drills to practice.

simple push-ups and crunches. I do 100 before bed almost every night. Also for the shooting at a wall, if you can, paint a small square or something to aim for. It's helped me with my game so far
