Dumb question regaring broken OPS.

I have a busted OPS and I am considering tossing a standard shaft into it. PRoblem is, I am 6'3, and I need to put an fairly long end-plug in there to make the stick long enough for me to use. Would a wodden end-plug survive very long if I shaved it down a little to fit the tapered end? Idiotic question, probably, but I'd rather get an answer here than waste the money on a blade and have it S--t the bed on me.

using a regular blade at the other end of a OPS, will make your OPS longer then what it use to be, cause regular blades are longer then tapered.

yeah but if you turn the shaft upside down all the flex will be in your hands not at the bottom of the shaft.
