quality shafts

Recommended Posts

i was just wondering if anybody on here had an idea of the quality of ccm's shafts and replacement blades. ive used their ops (10.0) but can't tell if they have anything in the 2 piece market that compares to it quality-wise. any help is appreciated, thank you.

also, if anyone has any information on the new sher-wood rm19 tapered shaft, i have had a difficult time finding anything about that shaft. thanks again.

I had a V6.0 blade in an AK27 shaft for all of one period - it made the stick so blade-loaded I couldn't stand it. I also had a Vector 6.0 shaft that I used for 1 game and got rid of - I just wasn't nuts about it - it wasn't super heavy or anything, but it didn't feel the way I like.

I happen to be VERY satisfied with the Warrior AK shaft... I've shelved an Easton SE, and an RBK Sickick for the AK...

I've also been favoring my Sherwood Momentum XD shaft... it's a tad stiff for me, but I'm adjusting.

how was ur ak27 shaft, btw?

I like my AKs a lot. I got a good deal on 'em, so I bought a bunch. Good shafts. I've broken a couple - but sticks will do that.

I know I complained a bit about the high-ish kickpoint (when compared to the sticks I had been using before - Easton SLs) in my review, but I've actually grown to LOVE the way these shafts shoot, and don't seem to have any problems with pucks staying on the blades too long anymore.

I just recently switched from the CNT Z-Carbons to Sher-Wood woodies (950s - the Bouchard pattern is sick), and really like the way they play. They're now pretty blade-heavy, but I think I prefer the weight distribution of this combo to the composite blades. The sticks' feel for the puck have been improved 200%. The only problem I have with wood blades is the total lack of durability.

I liked the AK - nice weight, and decent kick. It felt lighter than stated flex, but it was my first run at an 85 flex after using all 100, so that could just be me. I split two in the same place blocking shots, so I am not sold on their durability, but they performed well, for what they are - basicaly a Warrior version of the Ultra-Lite.

I haven't used the RM19 yet, but I used an RM9 blade toaday and was impressed. Feel isn't the best, and receiving passes is a bit touchy as it is an extremely stiff blade, but the shots off it were savage.
