How to shine a helmet?

Recommended Posts

I remember seeing a few pictures of guys wearing Gretzky helmets in practice.  I know one was Rob Ray, he had some huge ass sticker on his, and I want to say the other one was Smyth.  Sounds like a Smyth thing to do anyway.

Yup, it was Smyth. That reminded me of a picture of Ray giving the camera the finger during the playoffs last year, :D .

I think we're thinking of the same pic. Its the one where you can see his nice gut. Just goes to show you don't need a six pack to play in the show.

I think warranty may not be the biggest issue in the pros.

They passed a rule that they must start out with a new helmet every season.

I don't know How Messier's helmet can be new at each year, lol

Cavs019, They are not always wearing new equipment like helmet like you think,

For the skates, a lot of players keep their skate all the season. The only thing I think that they change a lot is their sticks.

Leetch has worn the same skates for almost a decade I think. Same with his gloves. If you look closely, you can see that they're painted.

Yeah, he's one of those players who don't like to switch equipment when they are very used to that certain piece of equipment.

I remember seeing a clip on HNIC of Toronto's equipment manager taping up the logos and spray painting the gloves just in time for his first game as a Leaf.

Yeah, his gloves are first-generation Z-Airs which came out in 98. He didn't wear them in an actual game til 2001. I remember watching him in pregame skates wearing them but would switch back to his GX800s for games.
