Decent, Cheap Wheels

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a decent set of inline wheels for about $5-6 per wheel.

I have considered these:

Labeda Gripper

Labeda Lazer

Rink Rat VT733

Hyper Razoredge

Rink Rat Hot Shot

Any info on those wheels or suggestions for others are greatly appreciated.

A lot depends on what surface you skate on. The best on the bunch for sport court certainly has to be the Hot Shot IMO. But if you are looking to skate on rougher surfaces then I'd go a different route.

I've used the Gripper, Hot Shot and VT733 a bit. I'd say the Razoredge and VT733 are probably more suited for a variety of surfaces but won't have as much grip on a smooth surface. Probably would lump the Formula G in that same category as well (I don't have any experience with the Lazer).

I'm a 230 lb skater though, so I tend to get more grip than lighter players do anyway.

I am a Rink Rat man myself but there have been some smoking deals on Revision wheels on Hockeygiant lately. I know some board members stocked up

We offer our Revision Axis Ghost Wheel for $5.99 retail. You can find them at www.hockeymonkey.com , or www.inlinewarehouse.com .

These wheels use the same urethane chemistries, profile, and core offered on our high end wheel.

Good luck.

If you are looking for good wheels at a good price definitely check out hockey giant. I just ordered and recieved my hyper trinity wheels at $1.20 each. It was a steal I got 8 wheels for 10 bucks...can't beat that. I'm pretty sure they're not on sale anymore though. But I check like once a week and they usually have great deals.

I used labeda grippers for the first time last night. I went from using Hyper Formula G Flex (78a) to the Labeda Soft (76a). I noticed a big difference in overall stick. Not saying that the Hypers were bad, they are still in great shape after a 16 week season.

I will give a longer term review on the Labedas as I use them over the next few months (if they last that long).

It's nice to see a rep from revision on here, I am always willing to support those companies that take the time to post here. I will buy purchasing rev's next time around, and will also do a review.
