Vapor XiX fit vs Reebok 7K

Recommended Posts

I am wearing a Vapor XiX size 8EE and they are a little short and a little shallow for my fit. I am planning to head to my hockey shop to try on some Reeboks but they only have D width. Before I make the drive I was looking for some thoughts on how a Reebok D width would fit vs the EE on the Vapor. Will the Reebok run a little longer? What I really need is about an 8.25 on my right foot. I can get in it but after about 30 minutes my big toe is killing me.

Thanks for your help.

When I was trying on my new skates (ended up with the 7K's and LOVE them) I found that the Vapor line was maybe a touch shorter than the 7K's....by about a 1/2 size, but they were also designed around a higher arch than I had. The 7K's fit my foot style perfectly. Just as a clarifying point also....if you are in a EE WIDTH for the Vapors (EE is widest, E, D etc etc narrower) then you should probably not be going with a D width in the RBK's. The numbering on the skates are the length, followed by the letters to decipher the overall width of the skate.

When I bought the Vapors I tried on a 8.5D 5K (nobody had the 7s and I couldn't justify the 9s) which fit width wise but I was afraid was too long. Nobody had anthing in stock in an 8 at that time. That is why I think the D width size 8 might fit. The Vapors run much narrower than the Reebok line and I have a wide high instep foot.

Can't justify the price on the 9k? What kind of MSHer are you? ;)

I was in the same boat as he was when I was at Perani's and trying every skate in the store on. The difference between the 9K and 7K for me was only price. Couldn't feel a difference and couldn't justify it by the price.

:D
