RBK 4K shoulders

I'm looking into picking up some new shoulder pads, and the 4k's caught my eye at the LHS the other day. My only concern with these was that they seemed a little flimsy protection-wise. I'm playing at the prep school level, do you guys think they will offer enough protection for me?

any other suggestions in the ~$60 price range, looking for something low profile with good mobility.

Not too sure about the 4k's. I use the new 6k's and love them. Great protection and really good mobility. If you can part with an extra $25, I would recommend these.

yeah i looked at the 6ks as well, just figured if i could save $25, why not

I've got the 4K's... good protection and mobility, might even be overkill for me. I play adult rec hockey.

so as my search for the perfect shoulder pads continues, i think i have narrowed it down to the 4k's and easton s5's, both seem fairly low profile and not all that expensive. I'm looking for some feedback on mobility and possibly protectionon either one of these pads, or any suggestions as to other pads...

Not sure about any RBK shoulder pads, but I currently wear Easton S5 and overall I'm happy with them. I play adult rec 2-3 times a week and have had the S5's for over a yr. They're holding up very well. Fits great, pretty light, and mobility is good. I wish these were slightly less bulky (not that they're really), maybe slightly smaller shoulder caps, and maybe a bit more velcro (I like my pads really tight against my body). I also feel these are a bit too protective for beer league but overall I'm happy with them...
