From Graf 707s to ... what?

Recommended Posts

I've been skating in Graf 707s for - well - ever now and love the comfort, but I am looking to make a switch to a lighter/stiffer boot. In the past, I've experimented with top of the line Eastons, Bauers, etc, but nothing has worked out. I tried One90s last year and it felt like they were crushing my ankle bones - too narrow and seemingly way too stiff.

My problem is that I currently live in Louisville, KY USA where hockey is nearly non-existent. There are 2 rinks (neither with a decent pro shop) and no LHS where I can go try on bunches of skates. Can anyone give me some recommendations on skates that may have a boot that is cut similarly to the 707? It sounds like RBK may be a decent bet since they apparently are a little wider in the heel, and the pump tech might alleviate some of the sore ankle problems from the stiffness. Also, what are primary differences between 9k and 7k??

Any thoughts or insights would be greatly appreciated.

good luck finding a boot that fits and functions like a 707. These are very unique skates. I would recomend the new G7. Lighter and still the same fit and function of the 707. They should be hitting retailers any time now.

Thanks
