The Habs Surprise!

The Montreal Canadiens are currently sitting at 3rd place in the whole NHL, and most people thought we would be almost 3rd last. Now from being on these forums and reading rankings everybody, even habs fans were doubting that they would even make the playoffs. THN ranked them to go 13 just like they did in 2006 to carolina, and carolina ended up winning the cup. Now i am not saying Montreal will win the cup but right now it looks like they have a real good shot at it. People were saying our power play would be horrible this year without souray. Well Montreal has the best power play in the league, and well Edmonton has the worst powerplay in the league. So was souray really a big loss? We have Roman Hamrlik, Andrei Markov, and Mark Streit who are running the show. And up front we have sniper Kovalev(looks like he will have a great year), Saku Koivu, Chris Higgins, and Tomas Plekanec who are all big offensive threats. We are getting great goaltending from Huet and Price which was expected. I think right we are in the top 10 for sure in defence, and our forwards are doing really well except for Ryder and Latendresse. This team has tons of depth both on the Canadiens and the Bulldogs. The habs will be playing the leafs tonight at the Bell Centre. Look for a greeat season out of Montreal and a possible Stanley Cup.
