Mission Skates - Day 1

Recommended Posts

Cliff Notes:

- Bought new 100AGS

- Had some problems with the supplefit and longer rocker

- Adjusted, coming from Bauers

- Baked

- Amazing skates

Long Version:

First off thanks to everyone for steering me in the right direction the last month picking out skates, I've gone from nikes, to ccms, to bauers and then I gave the missions a try and picked up some Fuel 100AGs. I wear a size 12 shoe but got some 10.5Ds because the 11s seemed too big and the 10.5s too small so I figured they would break in to the right size.

Tried them tonight at the rink, boot felt great on the sides, set the pitch 3 holders on neutral, but my main problem was my big toes seemed crammed in the boot. I'd skate for about 10 mins then come and retie them, kicking my heel back further and further. Also noticed if I tightened the first three eyelets really tight it pulled my toes back some, overall with these methods it helped.

The supplefit concept had me worried at first that I would topple over but they seemed fine, turned normally. Then I decided to cut some hard crossovers and the boot pretty much caught me off guard and I ate it in the corner, lol. Compensated for it on the next go around.

Once again got too comfortable too soon and came flying up, turned to hockey stop and lost it. Thinking WTF, then I remembered I was coming from Tuuk Custom + with a shorter rocker. I was alot faster with these, getting a much better push off after I got used to the boots getting so low.

Afterwards I had some pressure points so I had them baked and I'm going to try them again tomorrow. Overall these are the best skates I've owned so far, hopefully the baking will help with the overall fit.

your lucky. id love to use mission skates based on the fit i get with my inlines. But unfortionatly all the mission ice skates ive tried on cause unbearable pain in my ankles just to walk around in them. They fit me everywhere but the ankles.
