rollerhockeymavin 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2007 I am trying to decide what would be the best to buy-Swiss Micro's or Titanium. Is their a better micro bearing out there? thanks.
Spreedizzle 1 Report post Posted November 11, 2007 You can't go wrong with the Swiss. I just picked up a set for my Code 1's and they are fantastic.
kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted November 11, 2007 Micros are a gimmick. They wear out extremely fast and the weight reduction is extremely minimal. Go with standard Swiss and you wont be sorry.

Just look at the new missions, they come with 608's. And the Tours come with 688's but include extra 608's.
604bullet 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2007 if you pick up a normal 608 bearing it's already pretty light, cuz it's small688s would weigh less, but VERY minimallyi have swiss bearings and they're pretty sweet...alot of glide to themso i would say, get some 608s instead of 688s because i'm gonna assume u already have standard hub size wheels, why go out and buy 688s and then have to go out and spend more money to buy micro hub wheelshope this sorta helped
Spreedizzle 1 Report post Posted November 12, 2007 I think that I heard that the weight difference was about 4 grams per bearing. That is 32 grams per skate, hardly worth mentioning. For a more relevant rationale.....there are 454 grams per pound.
rollerhockeymavin 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2007 thanks guys, the only thing is my wheels are still in pretty good shape and they are obviously micro hub wheels. I thought their was a way to convert from reg. hub wheels to micro hub wheels-some type of conversion set of hardware. I get the point about the weight differntional/not as durable point.if you pick up a normal 608 bearing it's already pretty light, cuz it's small688s would weigh less, but VERY minimallyi have swiss bearings and they're pretty sweet...alot of glide to themso i would say, get some 608s instead of 688s because i'm gonna assume u already have standard hub size wheels, why go out and buy 688s and then have to go out and spend more money to buy micro hub wheelshope this sorta helpedI purchased my current skates and they came with factory micro hub wheels
Archangel#16 1 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 I would agree with Kovy. The micros have a reputation for getting jammed where I live and my 608 swiss have been running strong for about 3-4 years now. Very good purchase imo
ScottMan 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 In my experience my 688s have been far less durable than 608s, swiss or otherwise. I was happy to see that most companies have dropped the 688 thing. Cool idea, but it doesn't quite work as well in the real world.
