Big difference b/w a lie of 5 and 5.5?

New to the board! This board is awesome.

I was just wondering if there is a big difference between a lie of 5 and 5.5. I've been using a lie of 5.5 all my life (Shanahan, Iginla and Sakic now) and used to it but I got into a discussion with a fellow hockey player and he told me that the magic lie is 5.

Now I use Easton and the Heatley curve seems to be perfect (ignila's curve except longer).

I was just wondering if ppl had switched 5 to 5.5 or vice versa and could provide any feedback. Thanks!

I understand that. But I've been looking for a Shanahan-esque curve since they discontinued it...

Heatley is the closest but the lie is 5. I guess I could go to a store and try it etc.

Shanny is a 6, not a 5.5

Go with some custom blades from Christian or Sher Wood.

You can compensate for small changes in lie with stick length but how it will feel to you regardless is anyone's guess until you try it.
