graf custom skate question

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I'm in the market for some custom grafs. I'm wondering if someone has a list of things I can get done to them? Such as re-inforced eyelets, double stiching, padding inside the toe cap.

Ummm...

- different tongues (thickness, felt colour)

- tendon guard stiffness

- boot liner

- colour options

- thickness of ankle padding

I think Graf can stitch your name and flags/other stuff to the boot as well.

whatever you do, don't get the ultra tongues. I got a pair of G9's last year, and after about a month of wearing my new skates, the laces dug into the thick padding of the outer portion of the tongue and ripped/wore it away all the way down to the inner felt lining. I have had 2 previous pairs of 709's and they both obviously came with the Supra tongues, which have the white felt with the leather on the outer side. The ultra tongues are very comfortable, but definitely not as durable as the supras.

I used to have the 705's and the tongue was the first thing to go. I tried on the Ultra g5's and I loved how comfortable the tongue was but I could see it breaking down really quick

Ya. The ultra tongues definitely are more comfortable, but aren't built to last at all.

I've got the Ultra tongues on my G35's (that are basically Ultras but labelled as Supras, they're a pro-return), I've used the skates a good 20 times and can see the potential for break-down already. They haven't cut through the outer layer of the tongue yet or anything, but it will eventually. The comfort factor is undeniably nice though.
