Former Mega 10-90 Users

Recommended Posts

I am just wondering what skates currently available are in favor with those of us who have been 10-90 users. Mine are getting worn, and I may need to replace them soon. I have been holding on to these for a very long time, and I dread retiring them, but they are slowly breaking down and getting funky (not from neglect, I take the foot beds out and air them out after every single skate.)

I know the Bauer 8090 are a close match (exact?, same last?), but what other boots are good for a foot shape that likes the Mega 1090s? I have not been able to find any 8090s available in 6.5. Thanks.

The Supreme 70 fits like an 8090 which fits like a 10-90. Since they have been out awhile you might be able to pick some up for a decent price.

How are the Supreme 70's quality wise as compared to the 8090's? My 8090's are getting pretty worn, and I am looking for a comparable skate, both feel, and durability wise. Are the one90's close to the 8090's in terms of fit also?

Thanks,

Chris

70s and even 50s seem pretty popular around here, and they may be a great choice. Also, I bet the newer heat-fitable materials will make them even more comfortable. Thanks.

I will look into the 709s as well. Thanks.

I went from 10-90's to a bunch of Pro Stock 2000's then 7000's and now Flexlite 12's...the Flexlite's were an adjustment but I am really liking them and use them for both ice and roller

I guess I will give the 70's a try, does anyone know how close to the 8090's the Bauer one90s are. Close, not so close, worlds apart? I know I have to try them out, but was wondering if anyone knew how close they were.

Be aware: a stock D-width in Bauer 8090 is the same as an EE in a Micron 10-90, IIRC. I can't even get my foot into a D-width 10-90.

One 90's not close to an 8090...

Thanks for that I did some searching but I found peoples replys varied, though most said like you that they are not very close. I have a very wide forefoot, high arch, and a high instep. The 8090's are perfect for my footshape, so I guess I will give the 70's a shot. Thanks for the responses.

I loved my old Micron Mega 10-90's...wish I still had them. I've been looking for years for a pair in size 9, but no luck. I am now wearing RBK 9k's which, to me, are almost as comfortable as my 10-90's were. Try them on and see what you think.

Guys, thanks for all the help with my original post. I ended up buying a pair of Graf 735 6.5EE. They are better in the heel, and they feel like a dream. Thanks,

Bob
