New pants (hip protection)

Not to thread-jack, but since we're on the topic of pants, and Mission has been mentioned a few times... how are the Mission L5's? My local Pure Hockey has them for $40, and they seem like a nice sturdy pair of pants. I've been considering swaying away from the girdle.

Nice pants, I sold a ton of them when they came out. They aren't going to feel anything like a girdle though.

Yeah, I figured as much from the moment I lifted them up. But then again, the CCM Pro I'm wearing now is pretty bulky in comparison to most other girdles I've seen recently. They were more of a potential impulse buy than a necessity.

i don't think anyone in this thread said 9000's were tackla's best. the 9000's were just suggested because they have great protection (not the best but good) and great mobility. anyways, i personally love the 9000's and i have never had a friend complain about them either. i've only heard people say they love them.

so what are you saying are the best tacklas and why? edit: i've heard the 5000's have more protection, but aren't the 9000's more mobile and lighter? so therefore isn't it a matter of choice?
