Warrior Dolomite

Recommended Posts

I just broke my XXX lite and am now considering replacing it with a couple of Dolomites. The question is do I go for the one-piece or the two-piece.

I've heard alot of stories on there about once a Dolomite breaks that you can just heat it up and pull out the blade and put in a new one. Is it easily done and does the stick still feel the same afterwards?

If not I'd probably be more interested in getting the shafts however if I did go this route I would probably pair it with some XXX lite blades. Would they fit or is the taper of the Dolomite shaft different to that of a XXX lite shaft?

You can get the blade out of the Dolo.

You can NOT do it easily (they use epoxy - not hot melt).

Blade sizes are pretty much standardized - a standard blade will fit in a standard shaft, a tapered into a tapered - regardless of manufacturer.

I pulled a broken blade out of my retail "OPS" Dolo with little problem a couple weeks ago. Use a heat gun and take your time heating it up. About 5-7 minutes and it pulled right out. The epoxy smoked like crazy when it came out so be ready to remove it to fresh air or shut off the smoke detector. The shaft was 100% and felt just the same with a Dolo II blade. Unless you love a Warrior pattern I think I would advise you get a shaft and increase your blade options. The monkey has prostock shafts in clear, nipple grip and polar fibre right now.

I have owned quite a few dolomites over the past couple years. I started out with one-pieces and had mixed experiences with the blades. One came right out no problem (However the blade was already loose, this apparently used to be a fairly common occurance).

With my next OPS though I was not so lucky. I spent about 10 minutes with the heat gun trying to remove the blade, I also tried to cut around the contact point and free up the epoxy but it wouldn't budge. Eventually the shaft just basically fell apart from the stress of me trying to yank the blade out + the heat I had applied.

After that I went to the two-piece shaft and blade combo and really haven't noticed a difference in performance compared to the one piece. It is also much easier to change out blades and shafts of course.

XXX lites will fit in no problem. You'll be fine.

Think I'm gonna go down the shaft route mainly as I break the majority of my sticks in the blade rather than the shaft.

Thanks for all the replies guys. :D
