In the US, gun control is too disparrant between the various states. I used to live in NJ and it took 1 year for my pistol permit to be filed, approved, and then able to bring a handgun into my home. In my current state of NC, 2 weeks for a permit, go to your local Wal-Mart or other "fine establishment" and you are armed and dangerous. I personally feel that gun control needs to be federally regulated, without the discension that currently occurs from state to state.
