Heel Lift and Skate Profiling

What are heel lifts and what does it do? I recently bought the One90 skates. I'd have to say. THE BEST SKATES EVER. Sometimes I'm flat footed on them, and someone recommended heel lifts. How much are they? I know what skate profiling is. Does it make a big difference? Kinda pricey. $20 for a skate profile <_<.
