Vector 10.0 Review/Thoughts

Recommended Posts

Different taper and different blade. I have a 07 8.0 and it kicks very well. Definitely better than my v120.

The old 8.0 is the last run of v130. The early v130s had durability issues. By the time it was fixed, it was time for the vector line to come out.

See if you can find someone with an 8.0, the newer ones stick out like a sore thumb. Just ask them if you can shoot with it, you hand them a 10.0 and I'm sure they will let you. Take a few shots and see if you like it.

Okay, thanks buddy as always. I'll just to find an '06 V8 Recchi and give it a shot (pun intended).

The old 8.0 = v130

Not to beat a dead horse, but I am hearing that the "old" V8.0 is heavier than the V130. Are you sure they are the exact same stick?

If I do find a V130, is there any way of knowing which batch it came from (the improved second batch as opposed to the first ones which were snapping so easily)? Research, research...

Purely speculation here, but it could be that the second batch of 130s and the old V8.0 are heavier than the first V130. After all they did change something

I had an early V130 with the crumbling blade and the white V8.0 and they felt very different to me in terms of both weight, balance and feel. I was under the impression that the two were supposed to be the same.

They were, but keep in mind that it was the last batch of v130 that became the first 8.0. I've held or used 4-5 v130s and half of them felt different than the other half. Oddly enough the pro stocks yielded similar results.

Some felt VERY similar to the orange 10.0.

Well the prostock V130 I acquired feels lighter and more balanced than the new V10.0 Catapult I just bought. I've only used it for stick and puck and a couple games, so I'm not sure about durability. But it feels really solid and I've got a cannon with it compared to that Catapult. I'd say I can shoot about 30% harder than any stick I've used.

So, anyway of knowing if the prostock V130 I have is of the first or second "generation."

post a picture, including the blade if you can.

Well TBL, I finally got around to this. Hopefully you'll be able to see these pics:

I noticed that the warranty info is on the shaft, so I guess it's not a prostock stick??? I got it from a friend of a friend who's the equipment manager for an ECHL team back East, so I just assumed it was.

Also, I think the pattern is V-16 (it's rubbed off a bit) if that helps at all -- it's like a Lindstrom clone. It was painted black on the bottom of the shaft and heel of the blade by the player that used it, so that might make identifying which batch it came from difficult too.

Let me know what you think....

Just picked up a 2 for 1 deal for V10's for 149.99$ in québec ciy, pretty happy about the deal. One Ovechkin and one recchi. My favorite stick all-time was the orange V10 so lets see if I can recapture the magic.
