Vector 10.0 Review/Thoughts

Recommended Posts

Whoever has used a 10.0 CCM vector catapult stick can you post a review or any thoughts u have on it/ because i'm considering buying it

Anymore feedback from users of the new Vector 10.0? Would love to hear a bit more about it before making up my mind. I really like the V130 a friend gave me, but need a different pattern and wouldn't mind upgrading if the V10.0 is worth it. So far it sounds like a hell of a stick.

so 40 kp is stiffer than the NBH's 75?

40 KP (kilo pasquales) is equivalent to NBH's 85. 35KP would be equivalent to NBH's 75.

they have normal numbers on there now...it looks like:

35KP Mid Flex 75

So just to confirm:

A Regular Flex V-130 = 85 Flex '06 V10.0? Correct? (Got my eye on an '06 V10.0.)

Is the Flex of the V10.0 consistent throughout the '06, '07, and '08 models?

THNX!

nope im pretty sure a V130 Reg. Flex = 85 Flx. V 8.0

EDIT - Oh yeah a revoew...lol

well is definately a GREAT shooting stick and (no pun intended) it truly does catapult the puck off your stick... now im not one to mess with ur PP, but if you do get the stick, you need to get a flex you can really lean into, because if you let the stick do the shooting for you, you have one hell of a stick.

it's really light and well balanced but it does chip REALLY easily (if you really care that is).

i'll probably get the '08 model but its on the side right now, only due to the fact that i got an S17 from the toy drive. I've used that stick for about 4 months now, and although it's whippy for me (i weigh 150 and the stick is a 60" 75 flex), i still flexes perfectly, has not lost any of its strength, and even after slamming it a lot, it still feels like its got tons of life left in it.

hope that helps.

Great help. Thanks a lot.

I guess my only decision is choosing between the '06 and the '08 V10.0 models. I already know the Regular flex works well for me from the V-130 I have.

Forgive me if this has been covered, but can anyone who's used both year's sticks comment on the main differences between them (weight, balance, feel, kick)? Thanks again!

is there a difference between gen II and Gen I???

I think this was covered somewhere else but not sure where. I'd like to know too if anyone has the answer.

Anyway....Brady2- If you are looking at the '08 Vector V10 Catapult from the Monkey, Total Hockey has the '07 model on "clearance" for $139. It's the same stick has the '08, just with different graphics. That'll save you about $25 total. Plus the Monkey advertises patterns they don't actually have in stock (e.g. Lft Recchi)....

the 07 model doesn't have any right handed or regular flex.

After buying one and using one, it's definetly a sick stick, lots of feel with the blade, but blade heavy and an 85 flex is definetly not the same as an 85 flex easton, way stiffer

I recently bought an '07 V10.0 Catapult Recchi reg flex, and I am really disappointed. I got it because a friend gave me a pro stock V130, which was the best shooting stick I have ever used. The only problem was it was Lindstrom-type curve, and I couldn't do much but fire slap shots with it, usually ten feet over the net. But harder than ever.

So, thinking I was "upgrading" from the V130, I bought the V10.0 with a Recchi curve. But this stick doesn't kick like the V130, and I don't like the feel much.

My questions are:

Would the '06 V10.0 (first generation) model be more similar to the V130 than the '07 Catapult I bought?

What are the differences between the V130, the V10.0 ('06), and the V10.0 Catapult ('07)?

I know this might seem like I am being picky and whiney, but I'd love to get this worked out if I can. Maybe JR can help me out, as he seems to be the CCM Guru.

Thanks.

The old 8.0 = v130

Okay, I got that. But do you know the differences between the "old" ('06) V8.0 and the "old" ('06) V10.0? If the V10.0 has the same kick, response and feel as the V8.0 (aka V130), but shaves off a little weight, I'll go with it. If not, I'll try to find an old V130 or V8.0.

Different taper and different blade. I have a 07 8.0 and it kicks very well. Definitely better than my v120.

The old 8.0 is the last run of v130. The early v130s had durability issues. By the time it was fixed, it was time for the vector line to come out.

See if you can find someone with an 8.0, the newer ones stick out like a sore thumb. Just ask them if you can shoot with it, you hand them a 10.0 and I'm sure they will let you. Take a few shots and see if you like it.
