Skates for large man

Recommended Posts

I am 6 ft 4 and 260 lbs. I play pickup once a week with high level players.

I currently wear bauer 7000's and am looking for an upgrade. Is the vapor XXXX fit comparable to the old bauer's or is the One90 the skate to look at?

I have heard that Grafs are good since they come in a variety of styles etc...I have never used them, though I am looking to get a pair in a few years when I can afford them

I went from 7000 to XX to XXXX with little problem. The XX was lighter than the 7000, but lacked stiffness. I then went to XXXX at half a size smaller with custom stiffness level three (retail is two). The toebox of the XXXX (and One90) is different than the 7000--higher and squarer. I found the width of 7000, XX, and XXXX to be the same with the exception of the extra room in the new toe box.

My only experience with the Supreme line after the 7000 was the 8090, which was much too wide for my foot. I have never tried on the Supreme One90, 30, 50, or 70.

With your weight, you need a stiff boot. I would suggest trying a XXXX half a size smaller than your 7000. However, it never hurts to try them all on.
