1500's to G7's

Recommended Posts

Hi guys i've been wearing 1500's with Tuuks on for the last 3 years. I tried on a pair of Graf G7's last night and they felt really good! Does anybody know any issues I might have moving from the Eastons to the Grafs? Any help would be great!

When moving from any of the new age spaceman boots to Grafs, you are going to experience more freedom of ankle movement because of the lower cut boot. Also that model in particular has a stiff lower, and flexible upper which calls for a strong skater with strong ankles. The pitch of the Cobra holder is also tough to get used to as it puts you on your toes a lot.

I made the switch from 1500 to 707's and it wasnt very hard at all, both with Custom +. Im a pretty strong skater though, so the flimsyness in the ankles didnt bother me much. I was pretty much fine after 2 ice times, the only hard part was getting used to crossovers. Im actually planning on ordering custom G7's soon because im not a fan of the heaviness and waterlogging from my skates.

One of the worst issues adjusting to Grafs is the profile of the skate blade. You on the balls of your feet, basically on your toes much more than other models of skates. The trick is to be persistant and give yourself time to adjust.

I adjusted to the Cobras really fast actually...but I'm still replacing them with T blades.
