Tapered blades not fitting 'snug' in flyweight shaft

I've got an old mission flyweight shaft, the green one, and the tapered blades i've put into it don't fit all that snug. I've tried one of the old tps r2's, mission l2, and mission z2. Is there something i don't know about these?

Put some tape on the tenon.
