D aka speck 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2008 Make sure you practice "evenly"... Both directions, both feet. It's easier now than it is later. Don't develop bad habits.
raygunpk 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 Ok, the past few sessions my right foot around the toe area has been hurting during games, and theres a little bruise on the inside of my big toe nail. I think it might be because I'm not putting any weight on my heel, but my stops seem to be going fine now.Has this happened to anybody?

Wolverine 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 When practicing, make sure you practice a TRUE hockey stop. Performed with the feet apart (NOT WITH THE FEET TOGETHER)..... that is a 'true' hockey stop. This allows you to rapidly recover and perform a quick cross-over step to change direction if needed. Not to mention it widens your base of support and makes you more balanced. This is a 'true' hockey stop:Have fun!
raygunpk 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 Then it should be more weight on the heel of the foot instead of the front area.
ramensandwich 1 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 Then it should be more weight on the heel of the foot instead of the front area.nope, if you put weight on the heels, you just get a tight turn instead. weight on the balls of the foot.

raygunpk 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 It's been fine for a few months, I don't feel tightness or anything until after a little while when it becomes "asleep" if you know what I'm referring to. This happened when I started getting the stopping down on my right side.
