Wheel selection online

Recommended Posts

I was looking at my skates and decided I need new wheels. What websites have you found that have the best selection or price?

FYI- I have a 72/80 Hi-Lo setup with micro bearings.

inlinewarehouse.com has the best selection of current lines.. hockeygiant has decent closeout deals on older lines from time to time.

i think inlinewarehouse is the best. period.

check the rink rat homepage. you can actually look at the different wheel duro's combinations to help you decide which would be the best setup.

My experience with sites have been that hockeygiant has good prices and some great closeouts... but they suck. I won't go into it here, but i'd be more than willing to tell you why i'll never order from them again if you'd like.

Inlinewarehouse is a good bet for newer model wheels.

They should be just like anything else on ebay. Either the seller is a good or bad seller. Wheels should be pretty obvious to whether or not they were used or new.

they have the hyper pro 150 and 250s on ebay brand new still in that adult proof plastic that tears your hand up while gettin the wheels out.!!! just look at the pics its not that hard to tell if they have been used! besides the sellers state if new or used!!

So what's the cheapest place to order the Labeda outdoor asphault (orange) and labeda medium (green) grippers ? ?

Inlinesports.com always has some good deals on wheels. They're mostly older closeouts, but nothing wrong with that.

Would these be any good for serious outdoor hockey ??

These are the ones I am looking at.....

Is there any place cheaper for these 2 wheels ??

Matt, the asphalts and the grippers are going to be about the same price everywhere.

If you're looking to use a setup like Bryan and Wayne use (combo of grippers and asphalts), I'd suggest doing the first and last wheels with asphalts, and the middle two wheels with the grippers. Since you're on a Tri-Di, you're limited when rotating wheels. Putting the harder wheels on the first and last wheels will allow them to last longer (the first and last wheels generally get the most abuse).

for the price of the wheels on inlinesports, they're worth a shot. i have had issues with hub separation with the Zones, but we're talking years ago.

Thanx Pete. Yea I was looking to do what Wayne and Brian do. Not just to copy them and stuff, but because all labeda asphaults has no grip, but I'm really rough on my skates as you know.

So I'm gonna order labedda asphaults in 72 and 80, and gripper mediums in 76.

After reading this thread I went on ebay last night to look at wheels. I couldn't believe the selection with cheap prices. I guess If your looking for a specific wheel that you like then it's not the best, but if you're on a budget then ebay is heaven. Thanks guys.
