So, i have an opportunity to pick up an s17 tomorrow from the states, cutting off about 100 dollars from what i would pay up here in canada, but i have a few questions before i buy the stick.

People have told me that the stick doesn't give you the best feel for the puck, and can feel awkward when stickhandling. I currently use an sl, so i'm sure it will be better then that, but it's still a concern for me.

I have also heard that passing and receiving passes can be awkward.

I'm not worried about the shooting, as everyone i have talked to has loved how the stick shoots, but i'm not completely set on everything else.

(other sticks i have been looking at are the warrior dolomite, or a vapor xxxx)

If any people who have personally used or use the s17 (or the s17 and the dolo/xxxx) could comment on this, that'd be greatly apreciated. I'm hoping to either pick it up tomorrow or the day after.

I have an S17 and one thing you need to know is that it is very whippy. The 100 flex plays like an 80. Which is probly what makes catching passes/stick handling so shaky for whoever mentioned it to you. Its a great stick no doubt but IMO its not worth the 220 i payed for it. I personally like my ST better because its much stiffer and i actually like the feel better.

But if you have the money and are willing to take the risk go for it. It is a great stick but be warned its very different from what ive played with atleast. But i know a lot of guys who really like it more than anything else theyve payed with. It really just comes down to your own personal preference.

I made a new topic about this because in that thread, which i had already went through by the way, there was no answers to what i was specifically asking. Sure there were opinions, but i wanted answers from first hand users. That thread in no way answered the questions i asked above. Thanks for trying to help though.

Thanks. I've seen that as well, it does have some info on the feel, but it doesn't compare it to any other sticks. It is a good review, but it still leaves me with a few questions.
