Hockey DeVoTee 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Strictly Ice...... but our community recently installed an outside inline rink with Sports Court flooring over a concrete slab. I'm waiting on an A6 sprung frame to put on an old pair Flexlite 12's. At 5'9" 170lbs what wheel/bearing combo would work well on an outdoor Sports Court floor? Spreedizzle 1 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Sounds like you are right on the bubble. I am about 25lbs heavier than you and rock the Rink Rat MB-816's in a 78A. You can use the same or the 76A's for your weight. Or if you are on standard bearings then the Hornets.
Jim A 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 78A Hot Shots - their profile is tailor made for the sprung's over the hornet with a slightly wider footprint...and you will notice little difference between their 78 and 76A but the 78's will wear a bit better..this is closed tile sport court correct and not the open version which is akin to a cheese grater? I haven't skated in them for years as I have been on the MB-618's for quite a while....but I'd be interested in trying something new if it is that much of a positive difference. Hockey DeVoTee 1 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 The flooring is an open design it has holes "cheese Grater" to disperse water, dirt..... the elements. Thanks for the suggestions, if the flooring makes a big difference please keep making suggestions.
Jim A 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 the footprint of the wheel seems to be slightly wider and works better for me on turns etc..
