Opinions on CCM 8.0 blade vs 10.0 blade?

Recommended Posts

I need a new blade, was looking at them today at the LHS. Of course I got the typical "they're pretty good" answer from the LHS - the type of answer that says "I don't have any experience with either of them" to me. I searched on it, found a couple opinions in passing, was hoping to get some more if anyone's done a direct comparison.

So, what are your thoughts? The 10.0 runs $75 and the 8.0 is $55. Pretty significant price difference, is the performance/durability difference significant as well?

My buddy has been using a 8.0 blade in his 10.0 shaft for a while. He's on his 3rd blade in about 2 years, he plays once, occasionally twice a week.

Balance feels fine, can't really comment on puck feel because I cant puckhandle well lefthanded so I focus more on not screwing up then feeling out the puck.

Well I ended up going with the 8.0 since I didn't see any reason to spend the extra $20 on the 10.0. i used it last night, felt fine. I didn't really get to take any shots in the game so I can't comment on that really (was late to warmups so I only took like one shot against the boards with it), but as far as feel goes it seemed just fine - I dangled my way through a number of guys and scored twice with it on deeks (sp?). Put some long passes right on the tape too, so I think it'll work for me. Hopefully it lasts a while. It looks to be of higher quality than the Innovative I was using before (there is no visible seam on the blade, which is where both of my previous Inno blades have cracked).
