When to replace skates?

Is there anything else that could be added to that thread?

That thread was hard to search out -- please merge if it might make it easier to find a thread on when to replace skates.

I could live with my skates cosmetically falling apart...like all the eyelets coming out and the stitched toes ripped to the plastic, but i generally replace mine when they aren't stiff anymore or if there is major buckling around the 4-5th eyelet from the top.

same goes for me..when it starts too lose the stiffness and when i bend my knees i can see the boot deform when flexing the skate i know its starting to break down. Also the liner os a spot you can see like rips, deep rubing marks,etc.
