graf custon issues

Recommended Posts

I just got a pair of custom graf g3's (set me back 800 cuz im junior) and after a month and a half of skating in them ( i play womens hockey tops 4 times a week) and the heel has completely lifted off the bottom outsole maybe a cm gap tops.

I took it back to the store that ordered them for me and they said they have no idea how or why it has happened. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it.

Heres the even weirder part i took it back and they told me yeah they can send it back but it would take 3-4 weeks and were in the middle of playoffs right now so he told me to just keep skating in them.

any feedback would be great, ive only ever had skate issues and these are by far the best fitting iver ever had.

your LHS might have misfitted you. I would send them back because the last thing you want is to damage your foot with these skates (I did that and now have a bad bone spur on my heel as a result) As for grafs customer service, well, if you do a search you can find a large thread about grafs customer service.

The outsole seperating isnt because of a mis-fit. Thats a manufacturing defect/problem. Finish playoffs out, and then send them back, Graf needs/should to fix these for you, dont stop until the problem is resolved or you get a new pair.

If you want to get it back in place for the time being, use contact cement - worked for me when my toe-caps separated from the outsoles - although that was only after some severe heating and stretching that basically deformed the entire toe.

If you are going to refasten it with adhesive, you are going to have to figure out some sort of contraption to put pressure on it while it dries....like a really big C clamp or something of that nature.
