Hockeygiant has tacks

I didn't want this to get lost in the good deal thread because I know a lot of people have been looking for some tacks for a while. Hockeygiant just got some in all sizes.

992's for $200

892's for $150

Anyone wear them? How far off are they from shoe size? (several examples encouraged)

I don't have this specific model but I do have two pairs of CCM's in previous models including one custom and both are 1.5 sizes down.

I wear an 11.5 shoe and a size 10 CCM skate.

10.5 shoe size, 8.5 tacks size. i just got 892's which fit and feel VERY different from my old 652's.

I wear a loose 11.5 shoe. In the old tacks, I wore a 9.5d. These ones I wear a 10d. There is a very big difference in fit. It feels like they conform to your foot a lot more than the older models that felt like you were wearing a thick chunk of jerky that kinda wrapped around your foot. I also fell in love with the new e-pro holder and don't even get me started on lacelock.. I think it's the best thing since sliced cheese.

I have the 992's

My work shoe/loafer size = 10

Running shoe = 10 (9.5 with a few manufacturers)

I originally purchased the 892 Tacks online in a size 8.5. After skating (3) months, I realized this was a mistake and they were too big. I got MUCH wiser and then went to my LHS to get fitted.

7.5 in the 992's were PERFECT!

So, I would say a full (2) to (2.5) sizes smaller than your shoe size. Anything less than (2) sizes smaller would be too big!!!!!

The 992's are a VERY GOOD skate! I've been happy.
