goldeneye 1 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 I recently returned to hockey after 10 years. I seem to have a problem I don't remember having before. One area that I'm having problems with is cross overs to my weak side (right) while sprinting. They're fine at every speed except full out 100% sprinting.I'm talking about coming back om my self, i.e. sprinting going behind the net and coming out the other side clockwise, (like the fastest skater competiton). I did injure the right knee a few years ago (Chondromalacia patellae). The inside leg (right) just doesn't come forward fast enough so ends up still behind me when I bring the other foot round I stumble forward. Is there a technique on or off ice for improving? I know lots of people have a stronger/weaker side so maybe I was never as comfortable on my weak side while sprinting flat out, I just don't remember? McDougalfaschnitzer 32 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 When you practice, just try to get comfortable at doing it at a slower speed, then continually progress until you reach the level you want. Go through the motions, regain some of the muscle memory, and as you continue you may surpass your previous level.
