DEATHTRON 19 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 I have a DVD (now just a video file) of a concert that I would like to just rip the audio from it. What way should I go about this? Is there something any of you reccomend? In the end, it is a divx movie now and I want to listen to it in my car. Thanks guys, Zach
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 I found a program recently that worked well, Wondershare DVD Ripper, but it's for a Mac.I just Googled "DVD Ripper Mac" and looked at about 4-5 of the programs before I decided to download that one.

Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 Jason: How well does that work? Are you able to rip all dvd's or just unprotected ones?ThanksIt worked surprisingly well, with the only inconvenience that each song is named "chp_0001.mp3" or "chp_0007.mp3", etc, so I had to import the songs into iTunes and rename them after listening.I had the same goal as Zach. I wanted to turn concert DVD"s into mp3's. While listening to the songs, it seems like one of them was not recorded fully but, otherwise, the quality was fine.By the way, lately I've been checking concert DVD's out of the library. I'd recommend the following five (although I'm sure I'll find more):Live8: A 4 DVD set of the concerts held during the 20th Anniversary of Live Aid. Fairly mainstream music, which is good since I always joke that The Big D doesn't like anything with guitars, drums or synthesizers. Yet the whole family was eager for it to get dark enough to run the projector. It was kind of funny because The Who played and then another band came onstage, so I said it's not often a band would headline over The Who -- it would have to be somebody really big. My daughter asked, "Like the Beatles?" "Well, no, the Beatles won't be playing in this concert..."Instead, it was the reunion of Pink Floyd. But even they weren't the closing act. My daughter was correct. Maybe not the Beatles, but one of the Beatles. Paul McCartney ended the show, with all the acts joining him for the last song.Brian Setzer Orchestra in Japan: He's a great guitarist and he's backed up by 13 horn players, a drummer, cellist/bassist and 2 backup singers. Mostly rockabilly songs with a lot of punch.Eagles Farewell 1 Tour in Australia: Mostly their hits, plus some solo songs. The band sounds great.Pink Floyd's Pulse: I had bought the CD and wasn't that impressed after my first listen, but I found myself wondering, "Why didn't I like this?" The visual displays/ light show were awesome.U2 Go Home: A concert at the Slane Castle in Ireland in 2001. It was obvious that playing in front of the home crowd really energized the band. DEATHTRON 19 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 Man...you want visual effects, get a copy of Daft Punk 2006 Cochella...I had to bit torrent it, but it was UNREAL! Also, they didnt just play 1 song at a time, they mixed 2 and 3 together...it was really something. The music was better and the visual aid was completely awesome...Im throwing that out there for people to buy/download.Zach
