Best wooden blade for rm19?

Recommended Posts

Like the title says, I just bought an RM19 shaft off eBay and I'm now looking for a wooden blade that wouldn't throw the balance off.

Anyone has had experiences with the RM19/wood combo? I'm looking for something similar to the St-Louis pattern, tapered.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it a broken OPS why you would be looking for a tapered blade?

Because I am currently using a RM19/Woodie combo and it fits standard blades. Blades I use are custom S.O.P. Sherwoods.

I believe SWD made the shaft in both standard, and tapered versions. As tapered goes, I've heard decent things about the Bauer Vapor XXX Lite wood blade.

Its a tapered shaft. Not broken OPS.

I recommend a tapered St. Louis. Wooden.

That sounds like a good idea... :D

Even if it was a 'broken' OPS, Sherwoods are easy as hell to pull the blades out of without cutting anything. That's how I got my RM9 tapered shaft - discard pick-up from the rink, heat-gun until the paint bubbles, pull the broken blade out. Taper was 100% intact - takes Mission pro stock blades perfectly.

I have the RM19 with the sherwood 950, balance seems good and it starts of nice, but this blade breaks down quick, especially the toe. I also hear the XXX lite is sweet.
